Retagging

I've been retagging literally everything on the site. You may have noticed for example that MS Paint is now #mspaint. It's been very tedious, but I want you to be able to find all of the lightning or cowboy chickens at a single click. Or at the very least I would like to be able to find them.

Still working on it to add some more fun tags so you can find things more easily, but there are more than 2000 on the site, so it will probably take a while to get them totally filled out.

Also this hopefully makes tags correctly on twitter now, but I won't know for sure until I post this.

EDIT: It does.

Small Madness

Largely taken by concepts of confusion and going full coocoo the chicken would have you believe it wasn't a bird at all, but in fact just some sort of rendering of questionable artistic merit. Clearly nonsense. This is the peak of art– I mean a bird.
 

November 2020 Wallpaper – Wild Calm

There are two sides to every coin, and two aspects of every bird. Be overwhelmed with your blissful madness and depressed stoicism! On this day will you be Wild or Calm?

I tried several shading and color variants for this piece but the flat muted colors looked best.

Lunatic

Madness is the easiest thing to fall back on. One can only remain a composed stoic for so long unless they're truly mad, but one can embrace insanity until it becomes mundane.

I started with the tongue sticking out and went from there.

January 2020 Wallpaper - Whispers

Whispers of madness fill the chilled air. The cloaked bird was turned and twisted, falling from grace to consort with the dark creatures who called this land home. Those who entered would not find a fellow from the mundane world, but simply another denizen of this madness filled land.

This month's piece is a callback to the themes of Lovecraft's horror, or at least the pop culture version of it. The cool colors of the environment encroach and cover the last of the chicken's warm browns, and oranges.

Kill

This piece is a true return to form, with the reemergence of the "Gritty Sharpness" Style, last seen in early 2017. The clear and decisive messaging is impossible to ignore. "Kill" resonates with so many people on a deep level.

HD Background June 2016: Escape Mad Fire

I used to draw a lot of fire, so I decided to focus in on that for this month's wallpaper. First thing I did was just draw those pretty flames. Then I had to do the next part and it took me a bit to decide what the next bit was. A fowl escaping from... hell? Sure. That works, but then I had all the empty black space. What should go there. I contemplated a bit. There's nothing wrong with having white space, so to speak, but a purple pattern seemed like a good call. I tried some swirls and swooshes, but didn't quite get the feel I wanted. Then I realized... It was insanity. This fowl is escaping the flames of madness!

Long Taken

This fowl has been fully taken by the madness. It's hard to say if he thinks at all, much less if they are reasonable. All that's clear is the eerie laughter that constantly leaves his beak.

I don't know why I seem to favor the theme of madness. Maybe because it lines up with a slightly exaggerated and off look.

Teeth Man!

I read this. And it said some things I don't care about. The key bit is that Chickens can theoretically grow teeth. So, here I drew a lunatic chicken with teeth. Does he look insane? I really tried.

Mutant

This is a mutant from the bad future caused by The Occurrence in the year 2013. A simple chicken has mutated into something terrifying that can burn down not one, not two, but three sky scrapers.

Remember, much like wildfires, only you can prevent The Occurrence.

Rapid Insanity

This is a showing of the concept of insanity in the form of a rapidly crated chicken. If he had been sensible then things would have been much more distinct. Instead the madness of his creation left only a confused jumble to be seen in his wake, and him having no true place he could stay and call his own.

Screaming Thumb

Okay, so this one is very simple. This chicken is passionately screaming and for that he gets a thumb up. You can see the burning passion in his eyes. His powerful and insane scream is mighty. He has endless burning passion.

Dark and Horrible

Okay, as promised The Dark and Horrible Sight seen by the previous chicken. I feel that the pupils make it look more insane. The jagged beak combines well for an image of carnage. The background explodes with blood, death and evil eyes. I left the evil chicken in white for the purposes of contrast
