I'm feeling a bit off. I know the reason, and my main thought is that it's a dumb thing and I should just forget about it, but for some reason I don't seem to want to listen to me.

Going Christmas

Where I am it's not quite Christmas, but very soon. Like in 30 minutes. I have several posts planned for tomorrow so please enjoy several doses of Chicken Maker throughout the day.

Loss of Precision

When compared the the artist's usual work a loss of precision can be seen here. the difference in technique may make one question if it is even the same artist. In fact this is a change of medium, though still using his usual MS Paint. This piece was drawn using a Belkin Capacitive Touch Pen. As such a loss of precision was unavoidable.

Elegant Swordsfowl

Is this a civilized weapon? It looks like a really dangerous. That's almost definitely wrong, but it is elegant in it's something. Almost certainly.

Gritty Tired

Sleep. It's a dear old friend that one might ignore and resist at night and reluctantly cut short in the morning. It really is important though, so I'll talk to you all later.

This is my first Gritty Sharpness-type piece in a while. I still like this black and white heavily shadowed stylized design.

Trapped In Phone

Sometimes I feel trapped by the easy and immediate access I have to everything though my phone, computers and the internet, but really at the end of the day the things I would be doing if I weren't distracted are also driven by phones, computers and the internet. It is a troubling thing and the only real solution is personal discipline.

New Construction

I think I'm going to redo some things on the site. Maybe a new banner, rearrange and clean up the sidebar. I don't think I'm going to do any sort of major design overhaul. I'm kinda used to this color scheme and things, but maybe that will change too. We'll see what I'm thinking once I get going on it.

Promo Card - Double Abstract

The strong angular forms utilized with the limited palette allow for this distinctive piece to stand out. The choice to overlap the two forms was a bold one, but it makes the whole image feel more cohesive.

Is there too much empty space in this picture? I felt like adding anything would detract from it, but maybe I should have done something in the background.

Joyous laughter untainted by any sort of dire madness or insanity. This is just a nice light piece. I think I'll have another one out later tonight.

Long Before

Long ago he wasn't taken by madness. He was a bit of a gloomy guy though. It's not clear that this guy ever laughed at all. He seemed grim all the time. At least his feathers looked normal, but... he seems a lot happier these days.

I guess I'm on a follow-up kick? After I posted the last one I wondered what he was like before... So I had to let everyone else know too.

Long Taken

This fowl has been fully taken by the madness. It's hard to say if he thinks at all, much less if they are reasonable. All that's clear is the eerie laughter that constantly leaves his beak.

I don't know why I seem to favor the theme of madness. Maybe because it lines up with a slightly exaggerated and off look.

Just Comeback

Back in the day if I did something like not post for a week I would immediately apologize and post something declaring I wasn't dead or I was making a comeback. So you know, I would need one of those for like every other post now. (sigh) Anyways I was thinking of this pair of posts when I posted this: BORING and Exciting Come Back

Also on casual friday at work I wear a Hawaiian shirt, so I figured that would be good for this guy to be less... meh...

Just 4

I only posted 4 times this month? That's no good. I mean I know that I'm an adult with a real job and the dumb site I started in high school isn't my main focus these days but I expect better of me than that... It's not even like I'm too busy. I'm just doing some other time wasting thing.

Cool Glasses - Promo Card

This tough guy has established his place in the city by leaving a twisting trail of destruction and salvation. Also check out those little guys fighting in the background.

This one is obviously inspired by Shades McCoolguy, who my old fans found exciting and I assume most of you have never seen or heard of. He had a brown jacket so I had to change the color of the border.

Tumblr

This site is now being reposted on Tumblr. I'm mostly going to ignore that, of course.

Also the twitter is now posted using IFTTT instead of twitterfeed. I couldn't get IFTTT to connect to my Facebook page so that one I'm still posting using twitterfeed.

I think this works? I guess we'll find out pretty soon. If that is your jam go ahead and use it.

Promo Cards: Introduction

I am designing a set of small format cards to be used for promotional purposes. You know, like tossing a pile on a table at a university or mailing one to my Patreon backer.

This is the back of each and every card. It provides the important information that is the URL for the site. I'm not sure if something else should go on there, but for the moment that's all I could think of putting on there. I guess I could slap @ChickenMakerNet on there so people can find our twitter if that's their preference.

Every picture will be bordered with a nice little border. Like this. I'm not sure how I want that exactly, but I like this shape. I'll probably change the color and add some more detail.

 I'll probably try to convert some of my older pictures to this format for this project too. I really like this one, so I didn't want to not include it.


Also the Project Page had been updated. Been a while for that.

A Bang

I wanted to try something different... I don't think it worked. I mean I like the beak, but everything else looks like a mess, which it is because starting with a mess and polishing it a bit was my thing I tried. I don't like it though. Maybe it will grow on me though?

This piece is pleasantly pastel, in contrast to those words I just wrote.

Fowl Flavor Soda

All I have to say is... I don't even wanna know what chicken flavored soda would taste like, but I assume like carbonated chicken broth? Gross.

Mount

Today's piece started out a lot more generic than it ended up being. At first I just wanted a knight riding a chicken, so, obviously I drew that. Then I thought it might be cool to add an enemy like a slime in, so I drew that. I was looking and it occurred to me that that was clearly a killer onion, so I colored it as one, then that normal knight sword seemed boring. So it obviously turned into a giant butcher knife. Well at that point it seemed obvious that there should be a carrot too... I did put a standard field in as the background though. This is obviously a normal JRPG battle after all!

Angel & Devil

This is Angel. An adorable picture of a white fluffy chicken with a halo backed by clouds. It's cute. I should do the sparkly anime eyes more often.

This is Devil. An angrier and pointier fowl than the Angel. I tried to maintain the cute cuddliness but the mean-ness kind of overwrote it. I just don't have my Ebil style down pat just yet.
